Market Harborough, May 1953
Many people have their own memories of how it was living in Market Harborough just as Britain was leaving behind the hardships of World War 2. This project is just an attempt to jog those memories and perhaps encourage people to compare things over sixty years later. Instead of cataloguing the changes under headings such as work, education, transport, entertainment, food and health, we have attempted to consider the life of a typical working class family living in Harborough just before the coronation in 1953.
As a contrast we may consider the life of a similar family living in 2016.
